The
District's Pipeline Safety Grant Program is funded jointly by
the United States Department of Transportation ("USDOT")
and Washington Gas Light ("WGL") on a 50/50 basis. WGL
is the sole distributor of natural gas in the District of Columbia.
In accepting the funds from the USDOT and WGL, the District commits
to implementing the District's natural gas pipeline safety law
as provided in DC Code Section 43-1001 and associated regulations
per DCMR Title 15 Chapter 23, both of which are in compliance
with the provisions in the Codes of Federal Regulations Title
49 Parts 190, 191, 192 and 198.
