The Pipeline Safety Program is a Federal/State partnership program designed to assure compliance with Federal and State Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Regulations for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of natural gas pipeline facilities in the District of Columbia.
Commission Staff perform on-site inspections of operational records and pipeline facilities; conduct accident investigations to determine probable cause; implement enforcement actions, including civil penalties; develop regulations to facilitate Pipeline Safety; monitor the training of pipeline operators and promote natural gas pipeline safety through public educational programs.
