What Is Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP)?
  • Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) enables a consumer to use the Internet to talk to another person anywhere in the world. The call can be made using a regular telephone and an adapter or through a computer. The Internet is based on data transmission (called packet switching) which is much faster and more efficient than traditional telephone calling through local telephone companies’ circuit switching networks.
