NOTES:
(1) MD and VA rates are based on the major metropolitan areas.
(MD = Montgomery & Prince George Counties; VA = Falls Church, Alexandria, Fairfax, Arlington )
(2) In VA., Arlington County does not have a Local Tax but does have a 1.50% Gross Receipts Tax.
Fairfax County E911 tax is $3.00 and the lowest is Alexandria at $0.50.
VA implemented a 0.4% sales & use tax surcharge for all customers 9-01-05.
(3) For DC, there is no residential local tax on regulated services except the 10% GRT surcharge. For business
customers, there is a sales tax of 5.75% in addition to the GRT surcharge @11%.
